Manchester United and England football star Ashley Young faces a driving ban after he was caught driving a Range Rover at 100mph on the M62 at Halifax.
Police caught the 27-year-old speeding on the M62 east bound in the early hours of January 27, Wakefield Magistrates Court was told.
The court heard signs were lit up on the motorway at the time, which advised motorists to travel at 40mph due to adverse weather conditions.
When he left the motorway, Young was caught driving at 55mph in a 30mph zone.
The footballer, who has previously admitted speeding, did not attend today’s (June 21) brief hearing during which magistrates were due to consider handing him a driving ban.
Magistrates were told there was a discrepancy on the address of the letter sent to his home address in Manchester advising him of the court hearing.
Bench chairman Phillip Dixon, said: “The bench agrees to adjourn for three weeks, by which time a letter can inform Mr Young that we would like to have a chat.”
The case was adjourned until July 12.
