Two men were arrested in connection with a theft from a vehicle in the Illingworth area.

A 40-year-old and a 39-year-old were arrested and the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire Mark Burns-Williamson was present as the operation unfolded.

He was visiting the North and East Halifax neighbourhood policing team to meet partners before going on patrol with local officers.

The 40-year-old admitted the offence and the 39-year-old was released without charge.

Inspector Allan Raw reminded the local community to ensure that they don’t leave valuables in their vehicles, whether parks at home or elsewhere, especially now the nights are drawing in.
