A WOMAN who sparked a police search when she disappeared from her home has been found safe.
Susan Cowley, from Queensbury, was found by a member of the public near Bolton Abbey in North Yorkshire at around 9pm on Tuesday night.
The police were called and she was taken to Airedale General Hospital for medical checks.
Inquiries are now underway to establish the circumstances of her disappearance.
Officers had been searching for the 47-year-old ever since she was reported missing on Saturday.
She had last been seen on Saturday morning at her home. Police had appealed to the public to help them find Mrs Cowley, who is a keen walker.
Investigations had suggested her car was parked in the Cavendish Pavilion of the car park at Bolton Abbey and officers from West Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Police had been searching the area with help from a police helicopter.
