Murder inquiry launched in Leeds

A man’s body was found in Hyde Park, Leeds, yesterday morning. (Sun)

Detectives investigating the case can now confirm the man who died was a 30-year-old man from the Hyde Park area.

It is believed he suffered fatal head injuries following an attack at about 8.45 am Sunday morning on Brudenell Road.

Officers have arrested a 21-year-old man from the Wibsey area of Bradford in connection with the incident and are holding him for questioning.

A total of seven men and two women arrested earlier also remain in police custody.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the incident and anyone who witnessed what took place or has information is asked to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on 101.
