Police searching for a missing grandmother from County Durham have found a body on the moors above Cragg Vale.
A forensics tent has now been pitched at the scene, situated just off Turvin Road. There are also a number of vehicles parked on the rural road yesterday (Monday).
Durham Police have confirmed that a woman’s body was found. They hope to make a formal identification this afternoon.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police and Durham Constabulary have been searching the moors for over a month for Pamela Jackson, 55.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said yesterday that police had been searching an area of moorland close to Blackstone Edge Road, Cragg Vale. “This forms part of an ongoing investigation by Durham Constabulary.”
Miss Jackson, was last seen two months ago and her partner, Adrian Muir, 50 and of Calder Terrace, Halifax, has been charged with her murder.
