Naked rambler trial date set for Halifax

The naked rambler has appeared at Calderdale Magistrates Court following his arrest in Halifax town centre yesterday.

Stephen Gough, 53, stood naked in the dock apart from a pair of walking boots and pleaded not guilty to a public order offence.

Mr Gough, who has been dubbed the naked rambler, had been arrested walking through Hebden Bridge on Wednesday and was taken into police custody.

However, he was released on bail pending further enquiries and was later arrested in Halifax town centre.

His trial will take place on February 5, 2013, at Calderdale Magistrates Court.

The former marine from Hampshire is understood to have walked 220 miles before his arrest on Wednesday as he makes his way from Scotland to Southampton..
