A new sergeant has been appointed at Brighouse Police Station.

Sergeant Katie Crofts has been in the police for 17 years and has worked in CID, the dogs team, the Homicide and Major Enquiry team and other neighbourhood policing teams.

Six years ago she was promoted and worked in the prison handling unit at Halifax and worked in crime investigations before requesting a move to the Lower Valley neighbourhood policing team for a new challenge.

“I love it,” said Sgt Crofts. “I intend to engage with the public, deal with anti-social behaviour, reduce crime and the fear of crime. I would encourage people to contact us. I don’t want people to sit on their problems. I want them to tell us.”
