Police appeal following attempted knife-point robbery

Police are appealing for information after a 33-year-old man was the victim of an attempted knife-point robbery in the early hours of Thursday 30 October.

Detective Constable Andrew Clayton, from Huddersfield CID, said: “The incident occurred around 4.15am as the victim was walking on a cycle path between Alder Street and Red Doles Road, when he was threatened by a man with a knife who demanded cash.

“At that point the victim was able to strike out at the suspect and punched him in the chest before fleeing the scene and reporting the matter to police.

“The suspect is described as a white male, 5ft, 9” tall, short brown hair and what are described as bright coloured eyes. He was wearing a turquoise coloured tracksuit top, dark coloured trousers and white trainers.

“The suspect was seen by the victim earlier in the evening when he was riding a dark coloured BMX-type bike.”
