Police are investigating following the death of a man who was found seriously injured in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, November 1) in a street in Leeds.
Officers were made aware by Leeds Watch CCTV operators at 1.26am of a man laid on the pavement in Merrion Street who appeared to be seriously injured. Police and paramedics attended at the scene. The man was taken to hospital but was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Jim Dunkerley, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and are still working to establish the circumstances of how this man has become fatally injured.
“We would also ask anyone with information that could help our ongoing investigation to call Protective Services (Crime) on 101.”
