Police appeal following fatal Bradford house fire

Enquiries are ongoing this evening following a fatal house fire in the Bradford district.

Police and fire fighters were called to an address in Croft Street, Wibsey at about 5.30pm on Sunday April 5 after a fire broke out at a property there.

On entering the property emergency services found the body of a 68-year-old man inside.

Sadly he was confirmed to have died at the scene.

It is not believed there else was in the property at the time the incident took place.

Detective Inspector Gary Stephenson of West Yorkshire Police, said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this incident with West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause of this fire.

“At this stage however we do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances.

“Anyone who saw the fire break out or has information about the incident is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101.”
