Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Bradford.

At around 8pm on Wednesday, November 12, a male wearing a balaclava walked into a shop in Whitby Terrace and made demands for money.

He leaned over the counter and attempted to open the till but after failing to do so, threw the till on the floor and ran out of the shop empty-handed.

The woman behind the counter was shaken by the incident, but unhurt.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: “We believe this male may have been accompanied by another, as two males were seen running down Kensington Street shortly after this incident.”

The suspect is believed to be Asian and in his mid-teens, approximately 5ft 6ins tall and of slim to medium build.

He was wearing a royal blue woollen jacket with a check pattern, black woollen gloves and a black balaclava.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Kensington Street area in the time leading up to, or after the incident, is asked to contact DC 352 Doran at Bradford District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
