Police authority meet again to discuss chief constable and Hillsborough disaster

West Yorkshire Police Authority has been meeting again today to discuss Chief Constable Sir Norman Bettison and the Hillsborough disaster.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been referred allegations that the Chief Constable, while a serving officer with South Yorkshire Police, was involved in the production and supply of misleading information for the various inquiries that have been undertaken into the disaster.

A spokesman for the police authority said: “West Yorkshire Police Authority has met today to continue its consideration of the matters arising from the Hillsborough Independent Panel Report.

“The matter is ongoing.”
