Police are appealing to a member of the public who picked up a package which was dropped near a dentist practice in Halifax Town Centre to come forward.
The package, which contained money, was dropped near the B S A Dental Clinic in Clare Road, Halifax, at around 11.15am on Wednesday, April 23.
About 10 minutes later a man has picked up the package and made enquiries in the local area to locate the owner.
PC Howard Ainley, of Halifax Central Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We would urge this man to come forward. The package contained money which had been intended as wages for staff at a local firm and the owner would clearly like to have this money returned so he can pay the staff.
“A reward for the safe return can then be discussed.”
The man is asked to call Halifax Central Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101.
