Priority crime falls across Calderdale

Figures for the 12 months to September 2013 show decreases in priority crime areas in Calderdale such as robbery (down by 22%), domestic and non domestic burglary (5% decrease and 11% respectively), and drug offences (down by 13%).

Overall total crime in the district is up slightly – by 2.9% but since September 2013, overall crime has reduced by 7%. District Commander for Calderdale, Chief Superintendent Angela Williams, said: “There are some very positive results which show that officers out there are making a difference day in day out to the lives of law-abiding residents.
