Two drunks who beat up a club member after they were refused a drink have been sentenced.
Jordan Robertshaw, 22, of Towngate, Sowerby, and Jamie Rice, 20, of Arnold Royd, Rastrick, went into the Phoenix Club in Brighouse last January.
They arrived shortly after last orders had been called and asked for a drink.
They were told they would not be served and were asked to leave by Joseph Thwaite.
At that point, Rice grabbed Mr Thwaite and grappled him to the floor, where he began to punch him in the face.
Bradford Crown Court then heard how Robertshaw got involved in the assault by punching Mr Thwaite while he was down.
The pair were eventually dragged away from the victim and were pushed outside.
Mr Thwaite suffered cuts and grazes to his head and swelling around his eyes.
He also suffered injuries to his jaw, shoulder and chest.
The pair both admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Recorder Graeme Cook, told the men: “You went out for a sociable evening but you had too much to drink.
“You should both be ashamed of yourselves.”
They were given 12-month community orders, each with a condition to do 150 hours’ unpaid work.
They will also each pay £200 compensation and £250 court costs.
