The headteacher of Salterlee School says they are “devastated” after one of their minibuses was stolen.

The vehicle is believed to have been stolen from Kell Lane, Halifax between 12 noon on February 25 and 9.12am on March 3.

The minibus has Salterlee logos on the front, back and sides, although the school logos may now have been removed.

Headteacher Andy Taylor said: “We’re devastated by it. We fundraised like mad to get it.

“Some schools might see it as a luxury but it’s essential for us as we use it three times a week to transport the kids out for PE lessons.

“It’s a vital way of helping us manage our curriculum.”

Insp Allan Raw of the Halifax North and East NPT, said: “This crime is being investigated and anyone who has information should contact police in Halifax on 101 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
