Police have declared the disappearance of missing 13-year-old Erica Kacicova as “critical incident” as the search enters sixth day.
Erica Kacicova was last seen at about 4pm on Monday August 5 leaving her family home on Poole Road, Darnall, Sheffield.
Today (Sunday August 11) a 22-year-old man has been released on bail.
The man, who comes from Bradford, handed himself into police after hearing about appeals to find Erika.
Detective Inspector Tate of South Yorkshire Police said that since the teenager’s disappearance there had been no “positive sightings or confirmed contact.
“She is a young girl, away from home and our main aim is to return her safe and well.
“We know Erika’s family have friends in the Bradford area, so she may well have travelled to West Yorkshire.”
Erika’s family issued a statement saying: “Erika, you are not in trouble, we just need to know you are okay and where you are.
“We miss you.
“Please get in touch with the police by calling 101 or going to a police station wherever you are.”
She is described as being around 4ft 11ins tall, eastern European, slim build, long dark brown straight hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing blue jeans, pink polo style shirt and a silvery grey coloured jacket. Police believe that Erika could have travelled to Bradford.
Police are very keen to locate Erika to ensure she is safe and well.
