Clover the kitten was shot in hebden Bridge

An eight-month old kitten was left with life-threatening injuries after reportedly being shot in Hebden Bridge.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which happened in private gardens in Stubbing Holme Road between 11am and 4pm on Sunday, June 29.

Owner Laura Jewitt found Clover, a Maine Coon cross Bengal cat, with gun shot wounds and rushed her to the vets, where she received extensive surgery, plus a chest drain, drip and strong pain killers.

Laura, who believes Clover was shot with a hunting revolver or rifle, said: “We worry for her continued safety and other pets and children in the area. We hope that someone knows something as the police and vets agree that this is not an accidental attack.”

A police spokesperson said : “If anyone has any information about this offence we’d ask them to contact the Valley North NPT on 101.”
