A 16-year-old girl was punched in the face during an attempted robbery in Huddersfield yesterday.

The victim was walking home under the viaduct at Paddock near Paddock Triangle at 9.49pm when a small car – possibly a Vauxhall Corsa – stopped in front of her.

It had blacked out windows and wide wheel trims and rims. A man got out of the car and began to follow the girl.

He put his hand in her jacket pocket and grabbed the bottom of her jacket. She screamed and tried to run off but was punched in the face.

The suspect then got into the car and drove off up Gledholt Road.

He is described as black and skinny with a long thin face. He wore an Adidas jacket and jeans.
