Teenager mugged for his mobile in Huddersfield

A 16-year-old boy has been mugged in Huddersfield.

The teenager was walking on Bradford Road, near ASDA, when he was approached by two men

One blocked his path and asked him if he had any cigarettes on him.

The second man then grabbed his arm and demanded his mobile phone before grabbing hold of his headphones, ripping them out and forcing him to the floor.

He took the victim’s mobile phone before they both made off towards ASDA.

The first suspect is described as white, with a tanned complexion and aged in his early 20s. He was of a skinny build and was wearing a black snood or scarf with a white logo on it covering his face up to his eyes.

He was also wearing a dark green hooded raincoat jacket and dark jogging bottoms made of a ‘shell-suit’ type material. He spoke with a local accent.

The second man is also described as white, in his 30s, around 5ft 9ins tall and of stocky build. He had very short cut hair and was wearing a light blue waist-length waterproof coat with the hood up and light grey tracksuit bottoms made of shell-suit type material. He also spoke with a local accent.

Any witnesses to the robbery at 6.50pm on Thursday are asked to contact Huddersfield CID on 101.
