Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with the theft of two mobility scooters from a garden in Ovenden.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened on Turner Avenue North at 11.30pm on Sunday (September 28) when a group of approximately eight men entered the rear garden of a house and stole the two vehicles.

One of the scooters has since been recovered in Clough Bank, Mixenden, but the other is still missing.

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle on Wednesday, but have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

PC Ian Harris of the Halifax Area Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “If you witnessed the incident, spot one that looks out of place or are offered one for sale then please get in contact on 101.”

PC Harris said the scooters are vital for the victim to get around and go about his daily business.
