A THIEF has been sent to prison after stealing a school laptop while on bail.
Tony Reynolds, of Hops Lane, Ovenden, walked into Todmorden High School with two other men at around 3pm on Monday May 23.
Calderdale mMagistrates heard how the 23-year-old was seen on CCTV going into the headmistress’so ffice with two men.
Witnesses later saw a laptop being thrown from a car containing the three men.
Reynolds pleaded guilty to one charge of entering as a trespasser with intent to steal.
Joanne Lata, in mitigation, said: “Mr Reynolds has taken it upon himself to take responsibility for his part in this offence.
“His girlfriend is expecting their first child and he wants to be there for this event in their lives.”
At the time of the theft he was on bail for previous offences of theft and criminal damage and was subject to two community orders.
Magistrates sentenced Reynolds to 20 weeks in prison which included three weeks for the previous offences.
