Police investigating reports of air rifle pellets being shot at buildings in the Illingworth and Ovenden areas of Halifax have arrested three people.
The incident on Tuesday is understood to be connected to reports of a motorbike being ridden up and down New Street, Southowram, at 8.50pm in an anti-social way.
Three teenagers aged 14, 15 and 16 were arrested. The scooter and an air rifle were seized.
Chief Inspector Steve Thomas for Calderdale Police, said: “Crime involving any type of weapon is thankfully very rare in Calderdale and I am determined it stays that way.
“We had a number of reports of buildings being damaged and there was understandably concern in the community about the nature of the allegations. Whilst these were of course serious incidents I want to personally reassure residents that our enquiries so far strongly suggest that the weapons used was an air-rifle and nothing more sinister.”
