Two FC Halifax Town supporters have been charged after throwing a flare onto the pitch during the club’s FA Cup tie at MK Dons.

Thames Valley Police confirmed the two men had been charged in connection with an incident at Stadium MK.

Vincent Baines, aged 35, of Dean Street, Greetland, was charged with one count of possess a firework/flare at a sporting event.

Thomas Baines, aged 21, of Dearne Fold, Huddersfield, was charged with one count of possess a firework/flare at a sporting event and two counts of assault a constable in the execution of his/her duty.

Both were charged on Saturday after being arrested earlier that day. They were released on bail to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on 26 November.
