Two people have been arrested and a man is in hospital following an affray in Halifax town centre.

Two people, a 41-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man, have been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following the incident which happened at 5.30am on Saturday (April 11) on Black Swan Passage, a ginnel off Silver Street.

The man and the woman suffered facial injuries, whilst another man remains in hospital with facial and hip injuries.

PC Laura Knapp, of Calderdale District Police, said: “We understand that a number of people stopped to assist those involved. We are interested in speaking to them and anyone else who was in the vicinity and witnessed any part of this incident.”
