Two sought after town centre assault

Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to trace in connection with an assault in Halifax town centre.

A 41-year-old man was attacked by two males outside a fast food restaurant in Old Market at around 5.45am on Sunday, June 30.

He received facial injuries and was knocked unconscious.

A 59-year-old man, who tried to help the victim was also attacked by the men and required stitches for a head wound.

Both suspects are white and believed to be in their mid to late twenties.

One is described as about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, well built, with shaven brown dark hair.

He was wearing dark trousers, dark shoes and had tattoos down both arms.

The other suspect is about 5ft 1ins to 5ft 5 ins tall and of medium build. He has fair short hair and was wearing a light-coloured top.

Both men are known to have left the scene in a taxi which picked up two other men and travelled to Wilsden, Haworth and Keighley.
