Police have renewed an appeal for information following the theft of two rings from Lister Horsfall Jewellers, Corn Market, Halifax.

Two men entered the shop shortly after 1 pm on Thursday and distracted staff before running off with two rings.

Det Constable John Orley said they were seen running towards McDonald’s and seen again running past the Central Library in the direction of the bus station.

He said officers want to speak to anyone who saw the men running away or acting suspiciously outside the jewellers.

Officers believe a vehicle may have been used to facilitate their escape.

Both suspects are white. One is in his early 30’s, 5ft 9in tall and of a medium/stocky build with brown hair.

He was clean shaven and wearing a dark waterproof jacket and dark blue jeans.

The other is 6ft tall and slimmer than his accomplice, but of a similar age and short hair.

He wore a dark waterproof jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information should ring Halifax CID, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
