Three men who were arrested yesterday in connection with a shooting in Huddersfield have been released on police bail.

The men, aged 22, 28, and 33, from the Huddersfield area were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and possession of a firearm over the incident in Bradford Road last Saturday afternoon.

Several people were injured but none seriously.

A total of 10 men have now been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident as detectives continue their enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Adrian Taylor, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “I want to stress that incidents such as this shooting, which was believed to be targeted, are extremely rare and that no stone is being left unturned to investigate the incident.

“Local neighbourhood policing officers have stepped up patrols in the area and members of the public should feel safe to go about their day-to-day business as usual.”
