Five men arrested after terroism raids yesterday morning, including two from Halifax, have been released pending further enquiries.
The North East Counter Terrorism Unit had arrested a 32-year-old and 53-year-old from Kings Cross and Pellon on suspicion of fraud offences.
The men from West and South Yorkshire were taken to police stations for questioning in connection with alleged fraud by a purported Syrian Aid Charity.
Six residential properties and a business premises were searched by police.
The Charity Commission is supporting the North East CTU investigation.
All five men were released yesterday evening with enquiries still ongoing.
