WATCH: Caught on CCTV: Help us catch Halifax whisky thief

Do you recognise this man? Last Friday he strolled into a Halifax delicatessen and brazenly stole a bottle of whisky as staff worked on. CCTV footage clearly identifies the thief as he leaves Westgate Cheese and Wine Company, Halifax, at around 12.30pm June 14.

Shop owner Steve Jones, who took over the deli in March, said he noticed that the Glenfiddich malt whisky was missing from the top shelf when he was eating his lunch at around 2pm.

“I said: “whose sold the whisky? That’s great!””

But, nobody had sold the whisky from the family run business so staff checked the CCTV, called the Courier and police, and now hope to identify the man who is described as white, wearing a pink T-shirt and blue jeans.

Mr Jones said: “We’re a small family run business and thefts like these cause a real financial problem.

“When you have worked so hard it’s galling to think that some people think they can come and help themselves.”

Anyone with information are asked to call police on 101.
