A number of agencies came together for a day of action on the roads in Boothtown last month in an effort to tackle travelling criminals and irresponsible road users in the area.
Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team have been working with VOSA, West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit, the Casualty Reduction Partnership, Calderdale Council Taxi Licencing and HM Courts and Tribunal Service.
In a six-hour period, 40 vehicles were stopped and checked, resulting in a number of offences being recorded. The Casualty Reduction Bureau also conducted over 14 hours of monitoring on Boothtown Road, where a number of motorists were caught speeding.
PC Anna Hall, West Yorkshire Police ward officer for Boothtown, said: “We continue to work closely with partner agencies in Boothtown to tackle this issues that residents feel are a priority.”
