A DAD has been ordered to pay £400 after a drunken row with his partner spilled into a nursery yard.
Darren Majid admitted causing harassment, alarm or distress at Cheeky Monkeys in Halifax on February 10.
The 33-year-old had spent the afternoon drinking in the town centre before arguing with his partner, who wanted him to stop, Calderdale magistrates heard.
She then left to go to the nursery but Majid followed her with a pint glass in his hand.
Lisa Beadle, prosecuting, said he carried on drinking in the nursery yard while shouting and behaving aggressively.
“There were members of the public and children within sight and hearing of his behaviour,” she said.
Police were called shortly before 6pm and Majid, who has a 14-month-old child, was arrested.
Paul Manning, for Majid, said: “He is thoroughly ashamed of his behaviour and he offers his apologies to the court.”
He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 towards costs, plus a £15 government surcharge.
