Staff will demonstrate how to anesthetise and diagnose ill fish at noon and 2pm on August 20 and 21.

There will also be a barbecue and tombola, all to raise funds for Overgate Hospice.

Owner Phil Patterson said: “Cancer touches so many people’s lives and I wanted to raise money for our local cancer hospice as they need £5,000 a day to keep running.

“If we can have a fun day and people get to see some amazing fish and we can raise some money to help Overgate Hospice, then everyone’s a winner.”

There is a double dose of natural beauty for people to see at the farm, which is 1,250 foot above sea level.

“The views as well as the koi are stunning,” said Phil.

There is a new all-weather indoor centre to look round, inspired by the fish houses of Mushigame in Japan.

Koi carp grow up to four feet long.

“There are so many different varieties and colours and each fish is unique, their markings can be really beautiful,” Phil said.
