People in Sowerby Bridge may be left without broadband or phone services this morning after a caravan blaze caused damage to a telephone pole.

Firefighters from Halifax were called Clay Street at around 10.30pm last night (Thursday) where a caravan had been set on fire.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said it’s thought the blaze was started deliberately.

The fire spread and caused damamge to a neighbouring Hyundai i10 and the telephone pole.

Two breathing apparatus wearers tackled the fire with three hose reels and the scene was cleared by 11.15pm.
