ORGANISERS have bagged a star act for this year’s Calder-dale Pride – X Factor contestants Diva Fever.

The pair, Josef Al-Smadi and Craig Saggers, will launch the festivities at the Piece Hall at noon on June 18.

The singers who brightened our screens in the 2010 competition will join other acts on the stage. They made it through to audition in front of judge Simon Cowell at his home and were later selected as a wild- card entry for the live shows.

Other acts include Ryan Jagger, Patrick McCallion, Campersand and City Kids.

Other attractions include catering from Le Metropolitain restaurant, information stands and stalls selling everything from cupcakes to jewellery and accessories.

The family day will also feature fairground rides for younger visitors as well as circus skills and acting workshops.

Chair of Calderdale Pride Matt Gostridge said: “After just three years, Calderdale Pride has grown from a small musical event into a festival-style celebration of the diversity of Calderdale’s communities, welcoming all, with attractions for everyone.

“We truly hope that the people of Calderdale, whatever their background, will embrace this event and make the best of what will be a truly enjoyable day,” he said.

The party will continue into the night with an after-party at Cookies bar and Bar Up.
