1,600 have replied over Piece Hall already

Calderdale Council has already received over 1,600 responses to the Piece Hall consultation.

The consultation period began on October 7 and runs until November 11 for the public to have their say on the proposed plans for one of Calderdale’s biggest landmarks.

At a meeting of the Safer and Stronger Communities Scrutiny Panel, councillors discussed the possibility of attracting some high end retailers to the Piece Hall should the development go ahead.

Final plans are expected to be submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in March of next year.

At the Safer and Stronger Communities meeting, Councillor Thompson (Con, Skircoat) said: “I’ve worked with the HLF before and they might like to see some higher end retailers in the Piece Hall such as Bettys Tea Rooms, which would then attract more shops.”
