Primary school children took part in the Rishworth School Computing Day where they were introduced to the fundamentals of IT.

Pupils were introduced to the idea of algorithms through dancing the Hokey Cokey before programming Janice the animated alien to dance using ‘Scratch’ - a visual programming environment.

Kids then continued their coding endeavours programming an external controller to trigger sound effects and light displays. Teacher Mr Bell said: “Not only was it a fun day but the pupils were able to experience computational thinking including the use of algorithms.”
