Kirkdale Industrial Training Services held its annual prize presentation evening which attracted 350 people to the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top.

The Brighouse-based training provider handed out over 100 certificates and awards for engineering and motor vehicle apprenticeship achievements.

Allan Jagger, Chairman of KITS presented the overall Apprentice of the Year Award 2012/13 to Christopher Simmons who is a mechanical apprentice with Osborn Steel Extrusions Ltd.

Other awards were also given to school learners who have been attending the motor vehicle training centre for the last two years, learners on a foundation programme and to Y1 apprentices, in mechanical, electrical and fabrication which were presented by chief executive David Todhunter.

He said: “Another tremendous evening celebrating the record achievement of learners and I watch with interest their career development.”

KITS has been supporting local employers for more than 20 years by delivering training requirements.
