THE parents of first and second year students at Calder High School will be told tomorrow night of plans by the governors for improving discipline, in line with Ofsted recommendations.
Meetings will be held on Wednesday for the parents of pupils in years 9 and ten and those with children in year 11 and the sixth form will meet next Tuesday.
An action plan was drawn up by the governors and senior staff after Ofsted inspectors served the Mytholmroyd school with a notice to significantly improve standards of discipline.
Headteacher Carol Spillane said she hoped as many parents and carers as possible would attend meetings to explain what the school is doing to address concerns.
They will share the key messages in the Ofsted report, an action plan on the key areas for improvement and progress already made.
Chairman of the governors Rob Good said: “The head, staff and governors accept their responsibility for Ofsted’s findings. We have taken notice of the report and want to use this information to help improve the school but the whole school community now needs to work together for the benefit of our pupils.”
