St Michael and All Angels C of E, Shelf, and St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, Elland, are two of this year’s participants and have taken 150 shoeboxes.

St Patrick’s teaching assistant, Christine Bowden, said: “We’ve supported the Shoebox Appeal for the last three years. It helps our pupils realise not all children and adults are as fortunate as them.”

Shoebox Appeal school organiser at St Michael and All Angels Caroline Lawrence said the school wants to show its support to a worthy charitable cause.

If you would like to fill a shoebox collect yours from Halifax participating outlets Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Harveys.
