IF you’re picking up your GCSEs tomorrow, don’t fret if the results aren’t what you hoped for.
That’s the message from Calderdale and Kirklees Careers service, who say there are plenty of opporunities in the area no matter what GCSE results you achieve.
Advisors from the service will be on hand tomorrow at schools throughout the area and at the Halifax Connexions Centre to provide support, guidance and advice to help students find the right option for them.
Gerald Hey, chief executive of Calderdale and Kirklees Careers said: “Hopefully you’ll get the grades you want and you can move on to your planned next step, whether that be sixth form, college, apprenticeship or work.
“However if your grades aren’t exactly what you’d hoped for, or if you haven’t got any firm plans yet don’t panic. Whatever your grades are there are still opportunities open to you.”
Advisors will help students look for places in college or sixth form and help explore the courses available.
