Pupils and staff at Ryburn Valley High School are celebrating after achieving some of their best A-Level results ever.

There was also more reasons than most to celebrate for pupil Toby Rogers who becomes the Sowerby school’s first ever pupil to achieve a place at Cambridge University. Toby will study history at Conville an Ciaus.

Deputy headteacher Mr Young said: “Ryburn are very proud to have achieved some of our best A-Level results ever. Our congratulations go to all staff and students for their hard work.”

Another high achiever was Lucy Holroyde, 18, who achieved a B in Economics and two Cs in History and English Literature.

Lucy, who is going on to Nottingham University to study nursing, said: “I’m chuffed. I’m really happy and relieved. This summer has been a bit nerve-racking, so to get these results is a massive weight off my shoulders.”
