Young people can meet with career advisers and local employers at a careers day in Halifax tomorrow (Wednesday).
The event, organised by C&K Careers, takes place at their Careers Centre, on Alexandra Street, Halifax, on Wednesday September 5 from 1pm to 4pm.
Now exams and summer is over, the event - called Take Me On! - aims to provide extra help for young people to take their next steps.
They will be able to meet with advisers as well as staff from local colleges, training organisations and employres.
They will also be able to find out about apprenticeship vacancies and how to apply and get the latest information about college and training courses.
Employers such as Pennine Housing and Sainsbury’s will also be on hand to give advice about applications formers, CVs and interviews as well as good skills and qualities to have.
Jill Meade, manager of Halifax Connexions Centre, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people and their parents/carers to meet local learning providers and employers, as well as careers advisers. “We’ve invited a whole range of specialists to the Careers Centre for young people to meet and chat to.
“The job market is very competitive now and we want to give young people every possible chance to equip themselves with the right skills, knowledge and qualifications.
“They can come along and talk to people who know where the vacancies are and how to apply for them.”
