Christmas came early for sporting pupils at North Halifax Grammar School.

The high school was presented with a 17-seater mini-bus by Santa and members of the school’s Parents Association (PA) who have fundraised over the last year to afford the £25,000 bus.

The new wheels will be used for many educational excursions but in particular, to transport students to various sporting events.

Chair of the PA Angela Cowton said: “The school were in desperate need of a new bus and it will be used daily. The sixth-form football team now feel like a premiership team when they step off of the bus.”
