An intellectual curiosity programme set for children at Heathfield School, Rishworth, with the prompt “big and small” produced a wide range of ideas from creative writing to films and models.

Alfie Wood in Year 1 won first prize with a detailed poem about dinosaurs, Jake Thomas (Year 3) was judged in second place with a model of the solar system, Harry Teal (Year 3) was third having produced a film starring himself as “Super-Harry” and Theo Blundell (Year 4), with help from brother Toby and classmate Mariella Bromfield, was judged to be in fourth place. Theo’s entry came with an important message: “It doesn’t matter whether you are big or small, we are all part of the universe!” Headmaster Anthony Wilkins said: “The programme has really captured the imagination of pupils.”
