Budding young rugby players will be able to learn from the best following the launch of a new coaching programme in Calderdale.
Huddersfield Giants players visited St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, Elland last week to lead a session with pupils.
Professional coaching duo Luke Robinson and the Super League’s reigning Man of Steel Danny Brough will be delivering six weekly sessions for boys and girls aged six to 11 during the Autumn term.
Headteacher Linda Brown said the school was delighted to welcome the players.
“The feedback from all the pupils has been excellent,” she said.
“They were so excited about the opportunity to have such talented local players choosing our school to launch this new venture and already can’t wait until the next session.”
The school is providing the coaching sessions as part of its extended sport opportunities curriculum, thanks to the government’s new sports premium funding for all schools.
