Famous scientist, Dr Brian Cox presented Lee Mount primary school with a national ICT Mark award at the Bett Show in London.

The national standards are designed to ensure that the school’s investment in ICT is matched by its effective use in lessons. The criteria requires that staff are equipped with necessary ICT teaching skills, proper policies, and teaching plans. A visiting ICT Mark assessor will check that pupils receive their “entitlement” to ICT within lessons as well beyond the normal school day for ICT to have a real impact on the experience and progress of pupils.

Mark Chambers CEO of Naace, an association concerned with advancing education through ICT, said: “Lee Mount Primary thoroughly deserve the accolade of an ICT Mark accreditation. They clearly demonstrate how important it is to take a whole school approach to using ICT in schools.”

Headteacher, David Bosley said: “I am delighted that we have received this award, celebrating the excellent levels of ICT that all staff and pupils are working at.”

Accredited schools will have Safeguarding policies and procedures in place to ensure the school community is operating optimum practice in eSafety.
