TOT Spot Nursery, set up in 2003, is an extremely happy place and the quality of provision is outstanding, according to Ofsted.

The 117 children are cared for by 25 staff who are appropriately qualified and enthusiastic.

Ofsted inspectors said: “The nursery follows detailed and highly effective procedures for recruiting and vetting staff, and the children are extremely well safeguarded. Security is exemplary.”

The management is extremely strong and motivated, resulting in a team which is skilled and confident.

The nursery at Dean Clough, Halifax, has “very strong, positive links with parents.”

“There is an excellent balance of indoor and outdoor opportunities to encourage purposeful play and the children’s physical development is given high priority.

“Computers are available throughout, behaviour is very good and staff are excellent role models.”

The inspectors have given Tot Spot top marks for every aspect of its work.
