PARK Lane Learning Trust has been named one of Calderdale’s most improved schools after more than doubling pass rates in two years.
The school at Exley saw 41 per cent of students at the school achieved five A to C grades in their GCSEs compared with just 17 per cent in 2009.
Steve Taylor took over as headteacher at the school last September.
“These are brilliant results,” he said.
“They show the hard work and dedication of staff and students over this year.
“I am extremely proud of everyone including support and admin staff.”
Coun Megan Swift (Lab, Town), Cabinet Member for Children’s Social Care and Lead Member for Children’s Services, said: “This is a fantastic turnaround.
“I think everyone who worked to achieve these results should be extremely proud.”
