The former Ridings School is set for a massive overhaul turning it into a thriving community centre an application to planners is successful.
The Centre at Threeways is a charity group set up for an asset transfer of the former school and have now applied for a change of use for the building.
Their plan is “to create significant social, economic and environmental benefit, sustainable change and improved opportunity by creating a vibrant community wellbeing hub serving everyone across North Halifax”.
The centre will be split into five blocks focusing on themes incorporating health, community, enterprise, and community enterprise.
There will be computer rooms, a health center, day nursery, community cafe plus a large meeting space for use at the heart of the north Halifax community.
The application also includes changes to the exterior of the school building.
